EUSAS are looking forwards to welcoming Patrick Lynch, who will be giving a lecture entitled ‘Portrait and Landscape’. Patrick founded Lynch architects in 1998. He studied at Liverpool and Cambridge Universities and has taught at The Architectural Association, UCD and London Metropolitan University. Lynch architects won The Young Architects of the Year Award in 2005, and since then have been working on master planning the western end of Victoria Street in Westminster as well as on a series of small scale architecture and landscape projects. He represented Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 2008 and the work of the practice has been widely published.
EUSAS are excited to welcome Victoria Clare Bernie who will launch our photography and film competition with a seminar entitled ‘Un-natural Vision’. Victoria is a visual artist working with digital video, sound and image installation, graphic and photographic media. Her practice centres on the representation of landscape and most particularly the somewhat watery landscapes of Northern and Western Scotland. Her work was most recently exhibited at the Street Level Gallery in Glasgow in an exhibition called Slow Water, the culmination of a residency post at the Scottish Association for Marine Science Research Laboratory based near Oban. Vicky also tutors at ESALA and will be a familiar face to many of you.
